Please describe the “inspiration” behind your Enterprise.

It’s as simple as wanting to make this a better place to live. Having found others with shared values and a vision for change, a common purpose naturally evolved, and we nourished that growth. The mechanism for reaching out to the community was already in place. We realized we had become a team. Each volunteer involved has a passion and a desire to make a difference with constructive environmental change at the core. Participants began to feel a broader connection to our community. There is something contagious about this process. Interest, ideas and participation flourish. This occurs at a manageable scale where residents and the business community of Mar Vista can actively participate and realize results. Individuals were no longer islands in this urban landscape, but part of something – an eco focus seems to weave into everything we are doing. Not only could we accomplish great things in our own community, but inspire and mentor other communities in the process. Some of the change is subtle and takes place quietly, while at other times it’s a larger event.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said; “To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...
to leave the world a better place...
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.”
